Heat Flow Measurements at the Danube Deep-Sea Fan, Western Black Sea

چکیده
Seafloor heat flow measurements are utilized to determine the geothermal regime of Danube deep-sea fan in western Black Sea and presented larger context regional gas hydrate occurrences. Heat data were collected across paleo-channels water depths 550–1460 m. levees ranges from 25 30 mW m?2 but is up 65 on channel floors. Gravity coring reveals sediment layers typical Sea, consisting three late Pleistocene Holocene units, notably red clay within lowermost unit cored. derived bottom-simulating reflector (BSR), assumed represent base stability zone (GHSZ), deviates seafloor measurements. These discrepancies linked either fast sedimentation or slumping associated variations physical properties. Topographic effects account 50% deviations average values. Combined with climate-induced temperature sea-level since last glacial maximum large uncertainties prediction GHSZ remain. A representative value ~30 for study region this may be 100%.

Early Anthropogenic Transformation of the Danube-Black Sea System
Over the last century humans have altered the export of fluvial materials leading to significant changes in morphology, chemistry, and biology of the coastal ocean. Here we present sedimentary, paleoenvironmental and paleogenetic evidence to show that the Black Sea, a nearly enclosed marine basin, was affected by land use long before the changes of the Industrial Era. Although watershed hydrocl...

Helicity distributions of valence quarks have been investigated in many experiments and are now well known. On the other hand, the distributions of the polarized sea are poorly known. In particular, concerning ∆ū(x), fits assuming a totally flavour symmetric sea suggest a sign opposite respect to fits based on a flavour broken sea . The situation is even more confused concerning the transversit...

متن کاملIn situ autonomous optical radiometry measurements for satellite ocean color validation in the Western Black Sea
The accuracy of primary satellite ocean color data products from the Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer on-board Aqua (MODIS-A) and the Visible/Infrared Imager/Radiometer Suite (VIIRS) is investigated in the Western Black Sea using in situ measurements from the Gloria site included in the ocean color component of the Aerosol Robotic Network (AERONET-OC). The analysis is also extended...
